Cupcake wars..
Not only do I <3 food but i <3 sweets. I tried some cup cakes a Nadias cakes in Palmdale, CA and Double D cupcakes in Lancaster, CA. I thought Nadias cup cakes were to dry, and the frosting was very hard, they tasted old. I took a chance on getting a red velvet cup cake at double ds because I usually dont like red velvet, but i LOVED it, it was so moist the flavor was great and the frosting was creamy yummy. I definitely prefer Double Ds cupcakes!!!

Chronic Tacos
Chronic Taco has locations in parts of the United States but I tried the one in California. I recently sampled the some of the foods they had there, fatty steak, fatty chicken, and potato taco. I was surprised to see a potato taco on the menu since it’s not very common, but it’s a good idea for customers that may be vegetarian, the flavor was good with the cheese and guacamole on it. I didn’t like the flavor of the steak taco the meat was under flavored and was very dry kind of a stale taste to it. The chicken taco was my favorite, but yet just okay the flavor was the best of the three but still under flavored, it may needed to be marinated longer. I guess I can say it just doesn’t have the Mexican taco flavors. When they first opened I tried a chicken burrito and I didn’t like it at all, but I guess that’s what you get when ordering a burrito at a TACO shop. The workers are very friendly .Over all experience was okay, to be honest I probably wouldn’t go back.. Sorry : /

Soul Sistas Cafe, Lancaster, CA
Soul Sistas Cafe, Lancaster, CA. I was excited to try this new place because I heard some okay reviews. I went and sampled the smothered ribs, with bbq beans, mac n cheese, and corn bread, and i also got fried red snapper, black eyed peas and mac n cheese, and corn bread. the mac n cheese was dry, the bbq beans had a weird pepper taste, the smothered ribs were cold, meat wasn't cooked all the way and wasn't flavored well. the fried red snapper was pretty good, but I've had better. the black eyed beans were the worst i ever tried.. :/ the corn bread tasted old and broke apart when i put my fork in it, not moist at all. other then the food, the people are nice, but the location is not very good, needs remodeling, and there was a few things on the menu that they didn't have available. sad to say I wouldn't go again.

Captintonys
There is something different about Captintonys pizza, the thickness and crunchiness of the crust is so good, there is a lot of cheese and it is thick, and the pepperoni is always perfectly crisp. this is one of my favorite pizza places, but i must say its a little expensive, for a large one topping pizza and wings is about $16.00 with tax and some may say thats not bad, but you got to remember little ceasers pizza is only $5.00 for a large one topping. little ceasers is good, but for some reason if you dont eat it withing 20minutes of picking up the taste gets a little yucky like it has to stay warm. so little ceasers is good if your going to eat it right away and if your on a tight budget.

Last Part 4
Casa De Pico
Yum, yum, yum!!!!!!!!!! I usually wouldn't order a chimichanga because i always thought it was weird to deep fry a burrito, but when i saw the description of this seafood chimichange i had to order it. It has plump shrimp, and pieces of fish, with a creamy sauce on top, on the side there was rice, beans, and guacamole. the food was so good, and i also had a strawberry margarita that was so tasty i didn't taste the alcohol and they're known for their big cup sizes for the margarita.

Part 3 Lucha Libre taco shop
This taco shop has gotten good reviews and has even been on the man vs. food show for one of their famous burritos California burrito or surf in turf burrito, that has steak, shrimp, french fries, and avocado. The burrito was good, but i couldn't taste the fries they were to bland, the shrimp was good, and the size of the steak was good. the burrito is really big i couldn't finish it. the taco shop atmosphere is like a wrestling theme they have a "Champion’s Booth" where you can sit only if you’ve made a 24 hour reservation. The food is pretty good and the workers are nice, but i do have to say the place isn't very clean, i saw a lot of flies which kinda killed my appetite.

San Diego Trip Part 2
This last trip to Karinas Mexican/seafood I went to the Encinitas, CA location. I usually go to the El Cajon, CA location.in encinitas i ordered two carne asada tacos with corn tortilla were very good they had the steak, salsa, and guacamole the meat was tender and the salsa, and guacamole were fresh. I love Karinas but I like the location in El Cajon more because its more of a restaurant and has more items on the menu, the one in Encinitas is a mini taco shop. when you go to the El Cajon order the shrimp and steak molcaejte its my favorite its in a warmed stone bowl with melted cheese, steak and shrimp, and you put it in a tortilla.

Medrano's Authentic Mexican Restaurant
I went to Medrano's Mexican restaurant new location in Quartz Hill, CA. They have three locations I recommend this one the most, its a new building, great service, great prices, good location. I started with the chips and salsa for free appetizer its good, but there salsa is not hot at all I do wish it had more spice, but I asked for some spice and they gave me habanero type salsa which was HOTTTTT but so yummmy so I mixed it with the regular salsa.I had albondigas cup of soup for appetizer, it was good but did need a little more flavor, more spice, and maybe more salt. For my main entree I ordered the steak enchiladas with rice and beans. My enchiladas were very good the steak was very tender the cheese was nice and warm melted over them. The rice had some veggies in them like carrots, and I really like that. I will like to go again!

FRIDA
This was my first time eating at FRIDA in the Glendale Americana, that atmosphere was great they had a great live merachie, indoor or outdoor seating, good free chips as apatizer. My meal was good and different I only wish the poblano chile sauce was more spicy, the chicken stuffed with spinich and cheese was amazing never had it that way, the beans were really good had a little spice to them, the rice was good had some mixed vegies in it. I recomend going to this resturant.

Wendys Apple Pecan Salad
For a fast food salad I would say this salad is pretty good on a scale out of 10 being great I would give this salad a 6.5. The lettuce, blue cheese, cranberry's,pomegranate dressing and pecan were really good, the chicken quality was ok, i think it needs a little more improvement. I do think this salad is better tasting then the Carls jr. Cranberry, Apple, Walnut Grilled Chicken Salad.

El Torito
El Torito
Is my favorite place to eat Mexican food especially when I want a carne asada burrito the steak is juicy and full of flavor and the onions are grilled just right every time with a hidden spice. You also have to get their tableside guacamole they bring the fresh ingredients to your table and make it in front of you, its delicious. I tried making it at home once but it just wasn't the same. There is a little corn cake that come on the plate with the rice and beans its so good and addicting!

Baja Fresh
I was pretty disappointed on my last trip to Baja Fresh I usually get the chicken ultimo burrito that I love, but this time I wanted to try something different I got the grilled shrimp tacos and I didn't like them and probably wouldn't order them again. The shrimp was very bland and the sauce was watery I would have enjoyed more of a thick tarter type of sauce, with a little more spice. On my next trip i will be going back to my original order with the burrito!

LA
I have a lot of friends that go to downtown LA just to get the famous bacon wrapped hot dogs, so i want to make it easier for them and give them instructions to do it:
warm a skillet without oil (the bacon fat will substitute it)
wrap each hot dog with a slice of bacon in a spiral
use a toothpick if you need to hold the ends of the bacon.
add hot dogs in pan for about 7 minutes (i like them crispy)
add veggie peppers and onions to pan with bacon fat to grill
take out toothpicks and add hot dog and grilled veggies/onions to bun
i like to top it off with mustard and sliced avocados, you can also add ketchup, relish, brussel sprouts, mushrooms.

Red Lobster
Sad to say I was disappointed at my last trip to Red Lobster. =[ I'm surprised it's rated #1 Zagat best seafood? I feel their was a lack of flavor and to much sauce. I had Grilled Maine Lobster and Jumbo Shrimp with a side of lobster mashed potatoes. I'm going to have to say the cheddar biscuit's was the best out of the meal.
